Received the beautiful aberdeen album in the post just days after making the (super cheap!) order online and boy is it delicious!! And the sweet folks they are, I was blessed with two shiny badges, both gorgeous and twee! Did I mention shiny? They are also very shiny.

Two nights out on the town leave me craving a quiet weekend so that I might savour the joy that having a workspace brings. I inherited a desk from my housemate's ex so I can now work on my thesis on an actual surface!!! (as opposed to my bed). I have even been so organised so as to arrange my library books carefully with my index card catalogue box strategically placed against it for ballast. And actual things in actual drawers. Whole new world. It also means that the computer is one whole metre away making it less tempting to tech*fiddle (a terrible habit).

Everything looks set to be fine. Four sleeps until the boy hits town. Though I did frighten Marianne a bit tonight with talk of Spike and Legolas both being desirable largely for their "cleanliness". Makes me sound obsessive compulsive but really it's just a reaction to sweaty, dirty Aragorn. He's so dirty, and I bet he smells.
