i ♥ mail
it's always a new and unexpected joy whenever I pop open the mailbox to find several articles of mail, addressed to me and of the not-bills variety.
Today on my way to uni and radio, I checked the box on my walk to the station, and lo! A stuffed envelope with issue one and two of songs about ghosts (a zine I have read much enthusiastic raving about) and my package from sublime stitching, arriving only a few days after i ordered it from the US. Naturally, there was also a bill nestled amongst the articles but my exasperation was alleviated by such goodness of zininess and craftiness.
I've been thinking how I've become so slack with mailed correspondence. It's really much lovelier to post and receive a letter than just drop an email. The convenience isn't there but I must admit that it now seems worth the effort. My plan to write to Kate who publishes the excellent 'A Good Turn Every Day' will be the impetus I need to get it started again. And it may be just the thing I need to break the writing block I'm having with my thesis. Scratching pen to paper always seems to get things flowing... hopefully that will extend to the burgeoning academic in me.
If you want to participate in the mail fun and games, write me a letter or send a mail package of some kind and I'll do the same in return:

it's funny how email has just become so passe now. I too much prefer a letter or parcel in the mail but the convenience is still a big issue.
i think really that most of us are just damn lazy.
