Channel Seven has canned Arrested Development*.

After screwing with the scheduling, screening it erratically and late at night even then, taking it off mid-season and then showing a few more episodes, it's just been booted off the schedule completely.

The fact that they were screening "new" episodes which had been available locally on DVD for months couldn't have had anything to do with the fewer numbers of viewers could it?

This kind of thing is why the kids are consuming their telly a la carte from more 'dubious' sources or else saving their pennies to buy the DVD sets and avoiding the networks outright.
