Zines >> All Slay zine

all slay is a zine series focussing scholarly and fan attention on the Buffyverse (and it's satellite series').

It is part of a project of reinvigorating the fanzine and establishing a space for academic inquiry in zine form.
all slay is now out of print.

If you've already placed an order, it will be filled, but I am not printing any more runs at this point in time.

If you'd like to be informed if/when this does happen again, or if I decide to produce another issue, please join the notifylist.

Reviews

" The contributors provide an academic (but thankfully not dry and dull) insight into the shagging history of the buffyverse [...] There is much discussion on gender fluidity and how BtVS challenged stereotypes [...] For Buffy fans this is an excellent and insightful read and even includes rude fan fiction. Naughty!"

"i've really been missing buffy the vampire slayer & watching the dvd's isn't always enough. so then along comes katy with this zine chock full of theorizing on the buffyverse. it's rather academic, but not stale or impossible to follow for this very non-academic btvs fan, and it gave me the fix i was looking for. includes episode reviews & a slash comic featuring angel & spike. yummy! "

"as someone who jumped on the buffy bandwagon late, i've had a lot of catching up to do in the last two years. this zine has helped & also taught me a thing or two. as ericka says, it is academic without being dry. really, how can you go wrong with buffy & learning?"

"All Slay #2, from Katy, is a great collection of essays/deconstructions/discussions of different aspects of the BtVS universe. An excellent zine."

"this is the 2nd issue of the buffy nerd zine. the first one i found a bit too academic-y in language--a bit difficult to get through @ times, although once you wade through the language you find v. interesting ideas. anyway, that tendency is lessened in this excellent new issue, which i burned through last night in one fell swoop."

"all slay is a promising work in popular culture writing [...] the zine is intelligently written, mixing both scholarly analyses and fan-ish musings on the Buffyverse."
